Wood veneer Problem with 3M sticker6/1
My name is Francisco Varela and i'm an Architect, from Portugal
Recently i have open a business that work with wood veneer and 3M sticker.
I have a problem:
When i apply the wood veneer on 3M sticker, very thing is ok, but after 2 days the wood veneer loosens up.
What is the problem?
I'm using a polyurethane coat on the wood veneer before applying on the 3M sticker, is this a problem? Does it corrosion the 3M sticker glue?
I'm making this process, because i'm applying the wood veneer with laser (engraving and cutting) to apply on a plastic surface.
That is why, i can't buy wood veneer already with 3M sticker.
This sounds like an unusual application of veneer, certainly outside of my experience. Have you contacted 3M for technical support to see if you are using the right product for what you are trying to do? Adhering wood to plastic with a polyurethane coating as well as an adhesive ("sticker"?) is bound to be a very specialized process requiring research and testing to come up with a reliable process.
