Veneer backer shelf life on unused veneer

Does unused 10-30yr old paper backed or wood on wood veneer go bad? I have quite a bit of old veneers on backers. The faces and backer look good on most of it but not sure if still usable. Does the glue break down on these items.

Would you expect the glue to break down on the veneers that were used to make products? The veneer in your scrap bin is the same....

If it is properly stored and was properly manufactured it should be fine. The glue line is acrylic based and probably the backer was made by Kimberly Clark. Do you know who the manufacturer of the backed veneer was? You could always contact them and find out.

Thank you for your responses. These were bought from various suppliers over time. Basically we all seem to be in agreement that they are still good because the glue joint does not really deteriorate unless exposed to extreme conditions. I also reached out to some of my suppliers and they confirmed that.

I don't like new paper backed, so 30 year old paper backed would definitely go to the dumpster
