I built new kitchen cupboard doors. I used an oil base stain, let it rest for 24 hrs. with no prob. I used a water base varathane with still no prob. I did one side at a time but when i flipped the door over to do the front side, i was left with a build up of varathane on the door in blotches. As i was moving them around i must of had varathane on the bench, which built up onto the doors. i tried putting one coat of varathane over the entire door, then sand it down to get out the blotches but i am sanding it right through the stain. is there anything i can do,or do i have to live with the blotches?
I hope you have your problem solved, If not, how are you applying your chemical? Brush, Spray?
Many of my customers use nail boards to suspend the parts in the air. This elevates the part above the bench top and prevents the puddling of chemicals.
