Shopping for Holz Her Edgebander need input!

Here at Bayside woodworks we are looking for an edgebander and have been taken in by the Holz Her 1310-s sprinter and the 1400 series edgebanders, or more specifically, which one of these two might someone recommend for us. We are just wondering if anyone out there has any input on what would be a better fit for a small shop that is looking for a quality machine that will be used around 15 hours a week. Any opinions, techno jargon, advice or full on ranting would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for you time and we look forward to your contact.

For years we had a Holzher 1432 (which I believe is the smallest one they make) and just last year we bought a 1306. We did a lot of researching and found that no matter what one we bought, high frequency motors were the first priority. If it didn't have HFM's we didn't even look at it. If you will be doing 3mm, you will also want two seperate end trimmers (one for lead trim, one for tail trim). Occasionally you will run into a machine that has one motor for both ends...you don't want that. I would suggest that if you're doing a lot of 3mm or HPL edging, get the most robust machine your budget will allow. Edgebanders require a lot of attention and also, to prevent a lot of secondary operations such as scraping, cleaning, trimming, etc..., we found that the bells and whistles are worth the extra money. You won't go wrong with the Holzher. The glue system alone is what made us buy another one. Good Luck

Check out the scm k260 evo. Get it with all of the options. You will probably have to order it. Perfect for the amount of time you are using it.
