Feb 26 2009 Finishing Solid Lumber Wood Products This one day workshop focuses on how to use finishing materials made with petroleum, water and natural oils to protect and add beauty to solid wood products. Finishing materials, equipment and techniques used in small shops and production operations will be discussed. The finishing equipment session discusses using hand methods, roll coaters and spray equipment. In the afternoon "hands on" session attendees will use several finishing materials and create finishes for cabinets, furniture and millwork products. A discussion on how colors are achieved, how to create your own finishes and how to set up your own finishing lab is included. Economics of finishing are also covered.
