|A small but growing family-owned furniture manufacturer which specializes in high-end dining tables and other furniture pieces is looking for an honest, hard working, prompt and loyal person to be part of our team and work in the furniture finishing and rubbing/polishing area. This person must take pride in their work. The person should have three or more years of experience in furniture finishing/repair, furniture manufacturing or cabinet making industry or related fields. This person will be responsible for the finishing process and touch-up related activities of mahogany tables and casegoods. This will include managing the production schedule and working with sales people to develop finishes for customers. The process includes prepping raw wood, filling, sanding, toning, sealing and applying top coats. Experience with color matching, graining, glazing, toning and miscellaneous furniture repair is needed. The person must have experience spraying lacquer-based coatings. Some woodworking such as cutting wood components and assembling tables and other items will be required. The person must have experience using major air powered and electrical woodworking and finishing equipment such as spray guns, saws, sanders, and drills.|
The person must be a self starter and have the ability to work independently with a minimum amount of supervision. The person must also be a team player and have the ability to work with others to meet deadlines and complete projects.

This is a full-time 40/hour week job with periodic overtime expected. The successful applicant must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. In addition to their primary responsibilities, the successful applicant ocassionally will be expected to help with other activities associated with a small furniture shop such as assisting with set-up at trade shows and general activities around the shop. A through understanding of applicable fire, safety and OSHA rules is expected.
