The overview of the job duties includes but is not limited to:
•Provide pre-installation ‘plan of action’ to the Project Manager to establish durations and manpower allocation needs for each project as requested by the GC and/or contract documents.
•Develop, communicate and measure metrics and budgets to measure the profitability of the installation department throughout each project.
•Assist in providing required technical assistance, interpretation of drawings, recommendation of preferred construction and installation methods while staying in accordance with the intended design, install budget and project schedule.
•Provide leadership, training and education as required to all delivery and installation personnel.
•Develop, communicate and maintain daily and weekly delivery and installation schedules.
•Develop and maintain effective means of communication between installers and project managers to ensure accuracy in scope and quality.
•Oversee and assist, when necessary, the completion of all required documentation (daily reports, RFI logs, punch lists, etc.)
•Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, subcontractors and labor providers.
•Manage, review and approve/reject vendor subcontracts and applications for payment.
•Work together with Assist Field Superintendent and Human Resources to establish and enforce installation department policies, safety programs and standard operating procedures.
•Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices and rectify job site hazards immediately.
•Collaborate with Human Resources to develop and implement strategies and procedures for the recruitment of new installation manpower.
•Proven leadership success.
•Minimum of 10 years of experience within the construction industry.
•Detailed understanding of architectural drawings and specifications as well as general terms and conditions of contracts.
•Experience in managing multiple projects.
•Familiarity with the Architectural Woodwork Industry and its affiliates.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products.
•Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage diverse personalities.
•Ability to maintain professional discretion and confidentiality at all times.
•Ability to delegate work as required.
•Strong decision/problem solving skills.
•Excellent time management and organizational skills.
•OSHA Certification and/or First Aid/CPR Certification preferred.
•College or Technical Education preferred.
•Experience with laboratory casework / science casework preferred.
