This position recommends a two (2) to four (4) year certificate from college or technical school; or six (6) to twelve (12) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This position reports to the Estimating Manager.|

The following is a job description for the position of Assistant Estimator.
The Assistant Estimator will work in conjunction with the estimating team to analyze drawings, specifications, proposals and other documentation to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for architectural millwork projects.
Job Specific Tasks include;
Performs project take-offs and reviews drawings and other project information to determine scope & material requirements and prepare itemized lists.
Requests vendor and subcontractor quotes, interpret and process RFIs and generate labor and material take-offs utilizing excel templates.
Consults with clients and vendors to request additional information and clarification on project requirements and scope.
Organizes sold projects in job file system using all information obtained during estimating process and handoff to project management, engineering and purchasing.
Supports project managers by pricing changes in scope and other tasks as needed.
Identifies project insurance and tax requirements and coordinate with accounting team in order to quantify those costs into the estimate
Broaden technical and business knowledge through interacting with other departments and with project teams
Other tasks as may be required
Demonstrate attention to detail, be able to maintain focus and follow through in completing work tasks
Ability to maintain a sense of urgency and complete assigned tasks within required deadlines
Ability to be a team player which includes the ability to take/follow directives, maintain a professional demeanor and demonstrate respect for fellow employees
Ability to read and understand architectural drawings
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office in particular Excel, Word and Outlook is required as well as ability to use Bluebeam Revu
