This position assists in other departments, such as Shipping, Receiving, Detail, and Finish when production capacities fluctuate and needs arise. |
Reviews Work Orders in detail and seeks guidance from Assembly Foreman or Supervisor when needed.
Reviews Work Orders and provides Assembly Supervisor with a written list of items needed to complete the project.
Tracks time accurately in ERP System and seeks assistance if questions arise.
Stages all projects to ensure proper size and fit.
Makes sure all electrical items have been installed correctly, are functional and have proper UL labels.
Often works without supervision and may direct a team.
With training, is able to incorporate materials other than wood into projects, such as metal, glass, solid surface, plastic laminate, Plexiglas Graphics, and electrical lighting.
Clearly labels all cabinet parts with information, such as Job Name, Job Location, Job Number, Cabinet Number and/or Part Number, and Part Description. Marks all KDS with KD letters and witness marks.
Gathers all loose parts, hardware, and electrical labels and moves them to the QC/FGI area.
Expedites materials and projects to the proper departments when time is appropriate and without direction.
Moves projects with the Work Order to the next location in the shop after they are sure that the project is complete and adheres to HCMs quality standards.
Keeps all areas clean, neat, and organized at all times.
Helps to train others and assists other Assembly Department personnel as needed.
Minimum of 4 years cabinetmaking or commercial millwork experience or a trade certificate equivalent.
Deals with all quality issues at the source.
Ability to analyze shop and architectural drawings.
Ability to budget time to complete projects by required deadlines.
Basic math skills are required: addition, subtraction, decimals, and basic geometry.
Basic reading skills are required: ability to read measurements, general information, safety rules, and company policies.
Must have basic computer skills to use ERP System.
Must be proficient in using all shop machinery located in the Assembly area, including the Table Saw, Band Saw, Edge Sander, Sliding Table Saw, Drill Press, Jointer, and Hand Routers, as well as all the hand tools on High Country Millworks Tool List.
Emphasizes safety first, quality second, and production third.
Inspires a team atmosphere and respects other employees.
Needs to have a strong work ethic, be on time for work, and be willing to contribute.
Works overtime when needed.
Works in a professional manner with the Production Manager, Assembly Supervisor and Foreman, Machine Supervisor, and Finish Supervisor.
