Products made of solid wood whether they are to be used in living areas, house building, construction or leisure facilities require a focus on quality. The supply of standard timber has decreased, leading to price increases.
The reaction to this must be to obtain optimum utilization of the cut timber available and to examine the feasibility of other types of wood.
The problem basically lies in the numerous criteria set for the utilization of the timber: the various cross sections and fixed lengths to be processed; the grades, and quantities desired.
The problem becomes even more complex when finger jointing is involved: the various timber remnants of diverse dimensions to be machined, the different grades for the production of rails, moulding, glued panels, beams, etc. combine to make this a tough job.
Economic utilization of timber, Optimized performance, Fast Evaluation
The GreCon Dimter optimizing saw cuts to the core of the problem. Profit from all of the features of the optimizing saw
simple handling with a number of mechanization options which take some of the burden off operating staff
clear, uncomplicated operator control panel for the .input of production data in the optimizing computer
relief for operating staff in grading and work performance
exact logging of production data
controlled stock warehousing
checking and evaluation of the timber grades supplied
comparison of suppliers
quick adjustment to customer specifications
Intelligent software, Perfect Cut, Maximum Profit
One or more operators are needed for the marking station, depending on the timber grade and the grading requirements. Operating staff are able to concentrate on the marking of waste pieces and the grading of the timber using the set marking code.
The rest is done by the optimizing computer: The intelligent software evaluates the marks for optimum yield.
The measuring station
All of the essential information, such as in going lengths and the positions of the grade marks, is measured precisely and with no slipping as the boards are conveyed through the measuring station as the length measuring operates independently of the conveyor belt. The distance from the measuring station to the saw max. in going length, thereby guaranteeing full optimization.
From the usable lengths and allocated grades, and taking the values (prices) set and the number of work pieces desired into consideration, the computer (GreCon Dimter software) calculates the optimum cutting result with regard to a minimum of waste
maximum yield the work piece numbers desired.
The optimizing computer is user-friendly with its easy-understanding international symbols. Any PC currently on the market can be connected to it - ideally from the office - for extensive processing and evaluation of orders. The optimization program enables processing of 8 different timber groups (e.g. different widths), 8 grades and 200 fixed lengths per grade. In addition, the software has been equipped with extensive test and simulation features so that all of the functions of the saw can be individually tested via clear test menus. Moreover, calculations can be carried out in a simulation of the optimization without timber being cut, allowing optimum setting of optimization parameters and checking of price evaluations.
The cross cut saw
The saw drive operates fast and precisely. Timber is fed via driven rollers from below and rubber pressure rollers from above. The powerful drive motor and the special saw rocker arm guarantee an average of 12.000 rm (36,000 running feet) or more per shift. An independent measuring wheel, free from slipping, ensures exact positioning. Front and back cuts as well as short waste pieces are blown off at the saw into a waste pit by a reliable waste jet.
The sorting station
Sorting according to lengths, grades or orders - the operator sets the method desired at the operator panel. An integrated pressure reservoir cancels out possible pressure deviations to guarantee trouble-free, high capacity sorting. The length of the sorting station and the number of ejectors can be selected as required due to the modular construction of the line.
Note: Kickers for the Sorting Station are included. 5 in Total.
The result of our many years' experience and careful evaluation of our customers' wishes has led to the sophisticated technical solutions evident in a number of our features. Practice has shown that the OptiCut 204 pays for itself within a very short time offering a high timber yield (up to 12 %) possible. In addition to the quick amortization, up to 5 % higher value added and a considerable saving of working time compared to manual lines round off the package.

OptiCut 200 Exact Measure Twice, Cut Once
OptiCut S90 Exact
The new OptiCut S90 Exact sets a benchmark for the process of cross cutting. The Exact is the first cross cut saw that combines the volume of through feed cutting and the accuracy required for finished dimension parts(+/- .5mm). The ability to process finish-dimension parts without additional machining, like double end tenoning, greatly eliminating secondary handling, labor, and costs.
How it works
The OptiCut 200 Exact uses Dimter's conventional means of length measuring, and then with lasers the position of the cut piece is verified. The standard accuracy of through feed saws are+/- 1 mm per meter, by adding the lasers the accuracy is refined to+/- .5mm regardless of length. The primary method of encoders mounted on passive wheels insures that the board movement dictates the cut position. The predetermined position of the lasers on the out feed guarantees the physical board position is exact or the lasers will correct it. The Exact saw is the first OptiCut saw that corrects any error in positioning. This major difference separates the OptiCut 200 Exact from all other cross cut optimizing saws for customers that require high volume and exceptional accuracy.
The OptiCut 200 Exact Saves You Money by:
Providing cut accuracy that requires no additional length processing :lit Cutting only the parts you need
Increasing yield by running multiple lengths and jobs at the same time
Minimizing part handling and increasing flexibility in sorting
