Glue FR MDF3/4
What is the best glue to use for fire rated MDF?
The glue depends on the fire rating you need to get. Contact cement works the best. Most PVA's won't stick to the fire "retardant dust". If you clean off all of the excess dust you can usually get Wilsonart Type II to work in a hot or cold press. But it can be hit or miss depending on the board.
Do you mean the adhesive for making FR MDF or the glue to be use in joining the FR MDF parts?
Adhesives for making FR MDF can be E1 glue or formaldehyde free adhesive
Glue for joining FR MDF can be PVAc glue ( end joints) and formaldehyde free glue ( veneering).
There is no glue is the best choice. Depend on your application, product component functionality, and environmental conditions of product usage, your selected glue is an optimum choice.
If you need glue for FR MDF end joint at structural places, the flexible epoxy glue is recommended.
