Pizzi compressor fitting3/2
Just got the 9001 Pizzi glue tank and the fitting for the compressor hookup is unfamiliar. I would add a fitting/plug that matches my other compressor hoses but the threads are metric. Am I missing something simple? Anyone familiar with this tank and its fittings?
You can take the loose fitting piece off, and using some teflon tape, snugly screw on a 1/4" NPT air plug connection. This has worked for many years for us.
Those glue tanks are supposed to be portable, so the air fitting is a tire inflation fitting. Pressurize using a tire inflation chuck, and then you can use the tank hose-free for quite sometime before re-charging.
I got my first one used and made the same assumption as you -- changed out to a quick-disconnect and then learned how it was supposed to be used!
John, thanks for the clarification. Is this a specific type of tire inflation chuck? My searches only turned up the ones for schrader valves.
I don't know a lot about tires -- I just know that our Pizzi can be pressurized with a regular tire inflation chuck like you find at a gas station. Not to get too technical on you ;8>)
