What's the best bidding method for residential? By the foot?........cost of material and then add a certain percentage?
Bidding by a fixed formula is a great way to go bankrupt.
Tree-fiddy per foot.
There are many ways to come up with a price, the cost of materials times whatever typically is not at all consistent.
Build a spreadsheet, create a row for everything you do that's normal, put each cabinet in a column.
Different species, I use a percentage to modify the total cost of the complete cabinet.
Anything weird, or out of the norm, shoot from the hip like you do anything, pad it a bit, and put it on another page. Link it over to the total formula in your other spreadsheet.
It should be as much a science as possible. For consistency and for fairness.
