Edgesander Advice

In the market for an edgesander. I think the fact that we've never had one in the shop is the only reason we think we can survive without it. One of those "why didn't we get this sooner?"
Anyway, looking for advice on models. Probably going to try to pick up a used one. Is oscillating WAY better even if you have a bias tilting table on a non-oscillating? Looking for a long table/ platen. Is a 6" wide belt much better than a 4"? I would like a miter slot on the table to hold doors/drawers square, but a lot of the old Crouch, Ritter, etc. have wood tables without. Anything else I'm not thinking of?

About a month ago, I bought the Jet 8" oscillating edge sander and i love it. You def want one that oscillates. 4v6" all depends on how wide of parts you typicallt need to edge sand. It even has a secondary table to sand parts around the radius of the belt

I've got a big Bridgewood, used to have the smaller one that Grizzly has. You'll definitely love having an edge sander. I've never had an oscillating one so I don't know how much better that they are. I Built a 3" table that caps over the factory one, so I'm using the top half of the belt. When that gets wore pretty bad then I take that table off and use the lower half. Works pretty good. I don't think it's necessary to have the mitre slot. If your sanding the ends of drawer fronts, lightly touching the end of the drawer front to the sander for a second or two does the job. These sanders remove a lot of materia. My only advice is the larger the platenum the better.

I bought a Vega from Ballew Saw and Tool sight unseen and that thing is great.
Yes, oscillating
