Does anyone have any expoerience with the WA8 Altendorf made in the China Factory?
Any quality issues, service issues etc?
I haven't used a Chinese made Altendorf but do have a German made F45. If I couldn't afford a new F45 I'd buy a used German made one before one made in China. You are going to get what you pay for.
I wouldn't hesitate either. I think the f45s are WAY overpriced unless you do high production. Go see one. Call Stiles and ask where there is one close to you
For about 4-5k less you can have a scmi si400 thats still made in Italy
Just bought our second slider last year, an alt ending knock off from China, solid as a rock. Deadly accurate. Heavy duty, only flimsy thing on it is plastic glass magnifiers on cross cut fence which I changed for glass. Paid under 10k and added a new tiger rip fence, my guys like it more than my Casolin digit. I have a two man shop and we produce about 375-400k a year, for small shop, the more expensive saws are a lot of hype IMHO. Pocket the balance for your retirement.😎
