Difficult handle detail8/25
We are just about to start a new job in which the architect has asked us to do the door handles as per attached picture. The doors are a man made veneer so using matching solid timber in any way wont be possible.
We have had great success with this handle when doing a painted door as we can simply paint the mitred interior and narrow front edge. However edging the back of the mitres and the narrow front edge would be tedious and time consuming work.
I am trying to talk them out of by using an extrusion handle the length of the door but also interested to see how others have dealt with this issue.

I just finished a job just like that on Rift White Oak. My process was:
Just paint the edge.... it will only be seen when the door is open anyway....and if you have a good color match what's the big deal...
