Would changing overlay of hinges help rubbing with double door cabinets?

I have some cabinets that I repainted where a few of the cabinets with double doors and no center stile rub together. I think a few were rubbing before as I just bought the house but the paint I added to door and frame tightened the tolerances. I have the hinges adjusted outward the max amount of both sides but they still touch in middle.

Would getting a similar hinge with a larger overlay help me? I am trying figure out what changes on the hinge with a larger overlay? Does the offset between the cup hole and the bracket that connects to the frame actually change. ie... will getting the same hinge with a different overlay shift the door right/left relative to the frame? I was thinking maybe it does but then I was also thinking that maybe just the 'arm' of the hinge is longer if you have a larger overlay so that the outside of the door doesnt smack in to the frame as you open it. ie a door with a larger overlay on the hinge side might need a longer arm so that the outside of the door doesnt smack in to the frame as it opens.

my backup plan is to get a trim router and trim the frame a bit in the hinge area to make the frame opening 'wider' but I would love to but it would be much easier to buy new hinges of playing with the overlay helps.

I have fairly issues blum hinges.

Perhaps you could joint the meeting edge off one door no new hinges.

Route 1/8" off the edge of the faceframe where the hinges fit, as you said. Fast and invisible.

yes you could easily fix this with new hinges. just need to figure out the current hinge overlay and then make sure the new one has a min/max overlay range in which you require. Id spring for the softclose since you are replacing and the upcharge is minimal.
*this is all assuming there is room to move the doors outward without hitting anything and that they are not outdated "lipped edge" doors.

Moving the outside edge of the door over in some cases will cause the adjacent drawer or doors to be out of line.

We do this often. You only need to change the hinges on one of the two doors. 1/8" more overlay on one door has always fixed it for us.

If the hinge pictured is the one that you are using there is not very much adjustment. you can take a pencil and mark above a below on the face frame where the hinge screws on. take a utility knife a trim off enough where the hinge sits to allow the hinge to recess into the face frame a little more then you don't have to buy anything
