Toe Kick Night Lights
7/7/19
Hi guys.
A client has asked about incorporating some sort of night lights into a 2 bath remodel we are planning. It occurred to me the cabinet toe kick could be a good place to install a rope or strip light.
Anybody have any experience with this?
Maybe it should be on a photocell ?
Input/ suggestions appreciated

Why not just install a strip of led undercab on a rotating dimmer and photocell or timer? Alternatively you could have the electrician wire them to be on anytime the lights were off. I'd think the customer would like to be able to control them indeoendant of any other control but who knows.

I usually say that kind of stuff is the electrician's problem.

We regularly install rewired low voltage in cabs with modular plugs and a central transformer. The electrician takes it from the line voltage. I'd have no issue with installing led under the kick.

I've done this a few times, I think it's a cool detail. This one was wired to a wall switch.

Had a client do this to a kitchen I installed. I referenced him all the parts. LED strips, aluminum channel with a diffuser, power supply and LED dimmer. He hooked the power supply up to a motion detector. So when they come on they are dimmed to a level he chose. He used the angle aluminum strips to project the light out from under the toekicks.
