Edgebander tape feeding issue.2/7
I have older Casadei K20 edgebander I purchased to fix and use. I have one last issue with the tape feeder. Plywood triggers the first switch which fires the pressure roller onto the feed roller but it releases straight away it should hold until the plywood leaves the switch when it fires the guillotine cutting the tape. Hoping someone here has had the same issue with there machine that can suggest a fix. See video clip of problem.
If Iím not mistaken you have the strip magazine engaged.
The tape feed is advanced by the glue spreader. Yes, as the end of panel trips a switch the guillatein should be activated.
Post the video or pictures
Here is the video. The machine only has coil feed no strip feeder. You can see the switch firing to engage the roller but it releases straight away instead of holding until the switch is released. Thanks for any help you might have spent to much time trying to figure it out. Also, in case I can't get it fixed anyone knows of a good tech on Long Island NY.
Also, add some photos
the switch seems to be doing what it needs to be doing
also, since the roller is intermittent, have you take it apart and cleaned it ? The cylinder rods looks like they could use some attention, also check for pressure @ the unit Note once the tape hits the panels and smashes the pressure reel it wont need help to be fed
I have a 100k plus bander that would not engage the glue spreader, sticking cylinder little lube went long way
Could be a stuck exhaust valve or a quick exhaust stuck open.
Take the cylinder end line off (not the shaft side) and cycle the machine. I think you should have constant pressure in the line when the roller is supposed to be engaged. If only a pulse, you have a hint.
If it is constant, reconnect it and take the shaft side air line off and plug it. Cycle the machine with your finger or thumb on the fitting on the cylinder. Let the air out of the cylinder when the roller engages but don't let any back in. If it works OK then, you have another hint.
Sticky pneumatic valves are annoying - make sure the FRL is always full.
Thanks guys. I am setting aside Saturday to hopefully get it fixed. I did swap the valve out with one of the working ones didnít Make a difference. The hose marked number 1 in the photo blows non stop and the hose marked 2 just blows a puff of air when the switch is triggered. Swapping the hoses from one to another the tape then constantly feeds and wonít stop. I will let you know how I get on.
We dpon't have the same machine but a similar type.
