Inset or Overlay

We are in the planing stages of our new home. We are going for a Modern farm house look. Kitchen will have 9' ceilings. No soffit, crown only, upper cabinets to the ceiling only on one wall. Base cabinets will all be drawers. Sink cabinet will have false front drawers that are split vertically down the middle to look cohesive but are actually doors. My question is should we go with beaded face frames with inset doors and drawer fronts or do the traditional overlay with small margins? What is the trend out there? Any pit falls for touch to open and self closing slides? Not too worried about getting the margins correct if using inset euro hinges. Recommendations for hardware? I haven't done an inset kitchen in quite a few years but really like the look. Thanks Dan

If you are doing modern farmhouse I would think Euro boxes with shaker doors. Inset with bead looks good but you loose a lot of storage space in your drawers over frameless. Its about 2.25" in width per drawer once you add extra 3/4" for 1.5" face frame vs. 3/4" for euro plus 3/8" for bead on both sides. I also think that it looks traditional for a modern farmhouse. Blum hardware is the best. I wouldn't like the push catches they are a pain and its easy to bump them open. The no hardware look really only looks good on a super modern kitchen with high gloss slab doors.
