PCD feed/spin speeds for mfc

Looking to find information on spindle speeds and feed rates for PCD up/down spirals. 18mm mfc, nested board. Over material @ 0.25mm and 17mm deep, final finish pass @ +0.2mm on depth. Currently running 12.7mm cutter @ 18000rpm and a feed of 11.5m/min but only managing to get through 4 sheets before chipping starts. Obviously we want to maximise the cut due to tooling costs. Are up/down stc spirals a viable option or should we look at a larger diameter PCD tool? Our maximum board usage will be about 70 sheets per 12hr shift running a 2 shift pattern so tool costs are a premium at the moment. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Alan,
Im also in the same search for the perfect solution for us.
why are you cutting in two passes? we have used pcd and in one pass achieved 50 sheets ( 2070x2800mm) but this small number of sheets was probably due to the slow speed - 6meters. In last project we cut 25 sheets with Vortex spiral 3189XP without any problem - the edges were clean and sharp, speed was 20meters and rpm 16000. Unfortunately I have info only for those 25 sheets since the job involved 25 sheets.

Hi Holger,
Thanks for the reply, in answer to your question we are running with 2 passes as suggested by Biesse. We have only just had the machine installed and this is our first foray into nesting.
I'll pass on the info about the vortex cutter to our buyer, I've found a supplier here in the UK and prices seem quite competitive.
Thanks for the info.
Alan
