Textured Melamine Panels2/24
There is a new line of textured melamine panels, and I'm ready to try building cabinets with it. The material has like a deep wood grain. Has anyone had experience machining these on a flat table machine? I want to know if the texture interferes with the vacuum hold down. I see a potential for vacuum to leak out the groves.
Works fine for me.
5X10 table 30 HP pump.
I have done a few jobs with it. Cuts and holds just like any other melamine. We found we needed to have the good face (textured) down against our spoilboard to minimize chipout. We cut with a 3/8 compression.
It's been around for quite awhile. Runs fine, haven't had any problems holding cabinet size parts. (We have 40hp pump.) Even bands well.
