I need to change out the v-bearings on my cnc. I'm not sure what the procedure is to do it though. I can't send the v-bearing off the end of the rails without the transmission going off the rack teeth. So I'm not sure how to access the bearings to change them.
My v bearings have a concentric bolt that lets you back it off the track
On my old Digital Tool router years ago the carriage end covers came off to access the nuts that held the v-bearing bolts.
If you do not have removable end caps on the carriages then I think you'll have to look at the possibility of welded nuts on the carriages and bearing bolts needing to be spun out from below. However this could make it difficulty to have the required eccentric positioning spacers.
I'd be looking for a removable panel on the carriage and would be surprised if they were not there.
