Sanding Aggregate for CNC3/18
Hello all, I'm curious if anyone has used a sanding aggregate on a CNC machine.
We do a large about of solid surface counter tops and most are being cut out on the CNC so the material is already on the machine. My goal is to get as much of the sanding done as possible on the machine and do the edges and final polish by hand.
Currently we're running a Morbidelli N100 Nested base router without a C axis. From what I've read about sanding aggregates it doesn't appear to need a C axis but I have a call into the manufacturer to check that.
Does anyone have experience using a sanding aggregate? I would appreciate any responses, even if people are using a 4 or 5 axis machine with the aggregate.
Thanks for reading!
I've often thought about taking an old random orbit sanding head and mounting it on the CNC. I could have a machine shop make an adapter stud that was threaded for the random orbit head on one end and milled to a 1/2" or 3/4" diameter on the other end for inserting into a collet.
The Dinmar video shows just that as one of their options. I've tried finding a US dealer for the Dinmar tools online in the past but had no luck. Perhaps someone knows of a US distributor?
