Scm Pratix drill head7/18
I have a Pratix 48 cnc, it cuts fine but when it goes to drill the holes the drill head moves to position and then the machine freezes. It seems like the software is not recognizing the drill head.
There is a proximity switch near the top and bottom of the drill unit slide. Could be the lower one needs adjusting or is bad. The control needs confirmation the drill unit is in the proper position before continuing. Just a guess of course. I don't have an SCM, but they all work similar.
The proxy switch should have a light on it for visual confirmation.
Get the electrical schematics and start chasing back from the connector on the drill head itself.
Apparently your are on your own.
Seems to me the sensor stating that the drill is down is not getting to the controller
Ran into this issue with our electrospindle. Eventually I just soldered the wire back into the connector.
The wire relief came loose and just happened to break at the base of the connector solder point causing to not send the message that it was down
Yes. There should be a proximity switch. Up and down. Could be sensors knocked loose
