Anti-static dust collection hose vs doing an anti static kit3/6
I was using my performax 22/44 drum sander the other day and my hand touched the dust collection hose and left me with a pretty good shock. Stuffed in one of my drawers in the shop was an anti static kit that came with 14 gauge wire, etc.
I looked on the net and the only anti static hose i could find for a 4" port was from a pricey place like rockler. I really need 20 ft, but rockler only sells it in 10ft lengths.
Does anyone have a source that sells it in 20 ft lengths?
I also dont quite understand the directions for the anti static kit. It shows two different ways... Running the wire on the inside, poking A hole out the hose at the beginning and end of the run and using a self-tapping screw into the machine and dust collector.
Method 2 shows it being run on the outside of the hose.
Which is right?
Would you just buy more 14 gauge bare copper wire or spend the money on the hose and is the pre made hose better and why?
