Automatic stirrers, for small quantities (1 gal or under)?10/4
Is anyone aware of any small size pneumatic automatic stirring devices? I see them frequently for 5 gallon size cans but we would like something smaller that is more easily used on smaller quantities, such as 1/2 gallon or 1 gallon.
Most of our finishes are not prone to settling out, but the clearcoat is, and it sometimes sits for an hour or more between uses. Just too easy for even the best of us to forget to go swizzle it around before shooting it.
just buy a one gallon air shaker, dedoes makes one there are also offshore mfg ones for sale on line
be sure to make sure the lid is tight lol
the also shake pint qt and pps cups
Sorry Herb, I wasn't too clear with what we needed. Thanks for the suggestion.
I'm referring to an agitator for finish that's actively being sprayed, keeps the flatting agent in suspension.
Thankfully we do have a shaker that adapts to 5g and 1g cans for shaking before we catalyze it.
We made on that works for any size container.
Pdub that sounds pretty brilliant. Got me to thinking about an electric stand mixer like you use in the kitchen? Is that a crazy idea Matt??? Now only spins but it revolves too, plus itís variable speed, or at least mine is.
Pdub, that sounds interesting and reasonably easy to set up.
I actually found a pneumatic magnetic stirrer on Amazon for $100 that I'm going to try. Might not be strong enough to "mix" the paint, but I bet it will be plenty enough to keep the fluid rotating and not settled out.
I really like the idea of using an air regulator to control the speed. It should "putt putt putt" at a low speed just fine to keep stuff in suspension
Mike, I'm sure an electric mixer would work fine but I will not use an electrical device like that in my spray booth.... at least not that close to fumes.
For gravity stuff, sata makes an (overpriced) agitator cup.
