15-1 kremlin EOS

Hey everyone, I made a huge mistake by not cleaning out my gone after I sprayed Isolant. I didnt clesn my gun and everything froze in the lines, gun, etc back to the pump. The pump is still very operational, but I had to disassemble everything from the pump forward to the gun and even replace my gun. I have now reassembled everything but I have material (acetone) coming up to the reservoir on the inside and spitting out everywhere. I am only running acetone at this time to ensure I do not have any leaks, but the acetone is coming up and into the reservoir. I have no idea what the hell is wrong, because I cleaned out everything. Any thoughts?

Hi Mike
you will have to change some part of your pump, prepare to spend some US bills because Kremlin parts are very expensive
Good Luck

You need to clean out the fluid section of the pump, the check ball is probably coated and stuck where material will leak by back into your bucket. You should purchase a kit and rebuild the pump.

Is fluid leaking into the throat lubricant cup? that sounds like what your describing? Looks like your going to need a lower section rebuild kit... with the eos 15-1 the lower repair kit comes with a new piston/piston seal ... lower ball and upper ball as well as a new throat seal cartridge....... it's easy to change out but it's going to run you about $300..... I actually tore down the exact same kit this morning and put a lower kit in for one of my booth operators...

its part# 144.130.289 For the eos 15C25 pump.... just double check and make sure your is a C25...

you don't need to buy a repairkit that has more stuff in it that what you need, such as ball checks etc. very rarely if ever do yo uneed to replace them especially with a clear coat, if you were pumping a material sucha mdf white primer it might be a different story because of the titanium dioxcide, sorry crappy speller which is very abrasive.

kremlin includes a lot of stuff in the repair kits that you just don't need

you need a new cartridge but that is about it unless you scored the piston rod, see if you can drag your finger nail in any gouges, other wise most likely you wont need a new rod, be sure to lubricate the rod when you put it thru the piston cup, use either teflon grease or lube t oil

get an exploded view on line and buy a cartridge and put the rest of the money you would pay for a kit in your pocket

good luck herbj.

ah yeah you can buy just the throat seal but I personally build the whole lower while it's down... its part # 144 130 205 just for the seal...

yeah, if you have company money to spend i am sure it is no problem to spend 400 dollars more for parts you don't need,
if you are a small business nah, not so much

if i need a valve job and my piston and rings are good, i don't put in new piston and rings

good luck

I was able to speak to tech support in Michigan and sent along the video I made.

He said I will neeed a new cartridge and MAYBE the piston too.

Because of the pinch I was in to get it back up and working, I bought the entire piston and cartridge assembly and it now works!

It was a VERY expensive cumulative expense/screw up, but I love this gun, so it was worth it. I use to have a binks rapitor and while it was nice and my first airless/air assist pump, I prefer Kremlin.

I was able to save the “original” gun and will be replacing one internal part, because during disassembly, I did it wrong and damaged a part.

My hope is to buy another pump and use one for clears and one for paints.

Thanks again for everyone’s advice/suggestions.

WOODWEB's forums are a highly regarded resource for professional woodworkers. Messages and responses that are crafted in a professional and civil manner strengthen this resource. Messages that do not reflect a professional tone reduce the value of our forums.

Messages are inappropriate when their content: is deemed libelous in nature or is based on rumor, fails to meet basic standards of decorum, contains blatant advertising or inappropriate emphasis on self promotion (return to top).

Libel:   Posts which defame an individual or organization, or employ a tone which can be viewed as malicious in nature. Words, pictures, or cartoons which expose a person or organization to public hatred, shame, disgrace, or ridicule, or induce an ill opinion of a person or organization, are libelous.

Improper Decorum:   Posts which are profane, inciting, disrespectful or uncivil in tone, or maliciously worded. This also includes the venting of unsubstantiated opinions. Such messages do little to illuminate a given topic, and often have the opposite effect. Constructive criticism is acceptable (return to top).

Advertising:   The purpose of WOODWEB Forums is to provide answers, not an advertising venue. Companies participating in a Forum discussion should provide specific answers to posted questions. WOODWEB suggests that businesses include an appropriately crafted signature in order to identify their company. A well meaning post that seems to be on-topic but contains a product reference may do your business more harm than good in the Forum environment. Forum users may perceive your references to specific products as unsolicited advertising (spam) and consciously avoid your web site or services. A well-crafted signature is an appropriate way to advertise your services that will not offend potential customers. Signatures should be limited to 4-6 lines, and may contain information that identifies the type of business you're in, your URL and email address (return to top).

Repeated Forum Abuse: Forum participants who repeatedly fail to follow WOODWEB's Forum Guidelines may encounter difficulty when attempting to post messages.

There are often situations when the original message asks for opinions: "What is the best widget for my type of shop?". To a certain extent, the person posting the message is responsible for including specific questions within the message. An open ended question (like the one above) invites responses that may read as sales pitches. WOODWEB suggests that companies responding to such a question provide detailed and substantive replies rather than responses that read as a one-sided product promotion. It has been WOODWEB's experience that substantive responses are held in higher regard by our readers (return to top).
