Trying to learn how to do colored laminations for my business5/11
I'd like to start making my own colored laminations out of baltic birch plywood. Is there any way for me to do this?
This look is often seen on gun stocks, like here: http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/3217/dsc04363c.jpg
Any suggestions on places to start looking to learn how to do this?
I'd like to start offering products in not only hardwoods, but these laminations.
Those laminations are dyed before layup. they are soaked ain a dye that penetrates right through the wood. Then pressed in a block and then shaped into a stock.
Not sure who made that stock. It sure is beautiful though.
Any ideas where I can locate the dyes used, or any suggestions on how long to soak various woods?
This will give some insite into what you are trying to do. It does not look to costly
