Solid Surface Acoustic hollowbody guitar

Listing #101 Listed on: 12/31/2003 Name: Bryan

Company Name: RVSSA use for a lifeless material known as SSV. I decided a useful way for extra solid surface of 1/8 " thickness could be guitar picks, then how about an acoustic guitar. Well scheptics questioned tone and suistain? I then bent a piece around a coffee can, topped and bottom it w/ seam glue and it sounded great nothing dead here. I cut the samples for my nieces made a lid and box (Christmas Presents). I also found that when glued like a drum it had much more streangth than one might imagine. The rest is,well a great sounding guitar that you can even serve breakfast on the back!
This is the first 13 months ago and I have made 3 more. Unfortunatly as I completed my first away went all ssv from the NW to grined up and make 1/2" stock.

Did you use the same thicknesses and bracing as a wooden guitar? How is it built any different from a normal wooden guitar?
