Company Name: Blue Sky WoodcraftI was commissioned to build a 1/4 scale model of a Briggs Whitewater Dory that is used in the Grand Canyon. This model will make its rounds to a few museums around the country. Its first stop is the Kolb Museum on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The boat was built using the same techniques I use on my full-scale boats; Okume Plywood composite construction with ash gunwales. I thoroughly enjoyed this project.

Hi Marty,
I used to work with a fellow who worked at Cape Dory Yachts for many years. He told me that when the owner had to finally close the facility, he assembled the employees in a group forum and with tears in his eyes explained the companies fate. A sports field and condominiums now occupy that area.
He has a Dory Cat that he will cheerish until his death and lived a part of maritime history. Your reproduction is first class. JV
