Hey Michele, very nice work on your wall unit. I like the clean design, was it yours?

Yep, it's one of my designs. I draw up a sketch of what the client is looking for and we go from there, until we come up with a final design they are happy with.

I like the look and work with pine often. I have a concern about the color...with pine as a light colored wood and the stain dark, how will the client tolerate dings, scuff and scratches? Any impact is going to be visible...is that acceptable?

What grade pine worked for this and was it Eastern white or ponderosa?

Keep up the good work!

Ponderosa pine, and I warned the client about the fact that pine is going to ding, dent, and scratch easily. I myself would not have chosen pine for such a large unit but, this is what she wanted. She has no children and is willing to take the risk involved with such a soft wood. I would have preferred to go with maple or oak myself.
