Rosebowl

This is a bowl I turned from mahogany with a rose pedal cover. I got the idea from seeing an antique one time a long time ago and it was always in the back of my mind to try and duplicate it. I turned the cover on the lathe then hand carved the rose patern into the turned edge. with 8 coats of Deft varnish it turned out just the way I imagined it would.

Nice job.
I thing to check on or keep in mind for next time. The varnish you used may NOT be buildable. Meaning you should not exceed 3 coats. Check some are and some are not. If not, the finish will develop fine cracks in it over time......

Ask me how I know this NOW???? You guessed it. Been there done that.
