The top for this table was cut from a walnut tree felled by lightning. Butterflies are Ebony and Wenge.

At first glance, I thought the piece as a whole was out of proportion - specifically the legs appeared too large/bulky for the top.
But after looking at it for some time (because I admire it) it "flows" very well.
How are the legs attached, what finish did you use?

Thanks for your comment. Yes, this table is a bit deceiving in photographs, in person it is a different table. Most likely because of my lack of photo skills, the shape of the top as well as taper of the legs are difficult to photo.

The legs are attached using fox wedged tenons. Finish is an oil varnish mix.
