Very nice, but I don't think I could get much work done sitting at that desk.

Mike- that is an exceptional piece! Great work.

That is awesome. Does the top have a live edge? I can't tell from the photo. Feel free to post more pix. What finish did you use?

Posted By:Mike Huber

the top has 1 live edge, i cut the other edge off. and the finish is lacquer, the top just has linseed oil on it for now. that will get a top coat also.

Mike,

Beautiful piece!! Where on earth did you find that slab??

Posted By:Mike Huber

I got the slab from a shop here in Maryland, Exotic Lumber.

Nice work, beautiful wood.

How much did the wood cost for this product? Looks great.

Very beautiful work! How did you obtain a big slab of bubinga? Doesn't bubinga come from South America or Africa? If it's possible, write back with the company name you obtained the bubinga from, as well as the type of finish you used and how you applied the finish. Thanks a lot for responding.

P.S. Have you ever used honeylocust for any of your projects?

How dis you finish your desk?

Posted By:Mike H.

the finish is thinned shellac under Lacquer. I feel the thinned shellac did bring out some depth.
