Making the Barcelona curly cherry table

Curly cherry and tiger maple dining table. Eight chairs are in progress. I really enjoyed making this piece since the customers gave me the freedom to express my artistic imagination (of course I met with the customers twice to pick their brains a bit).
The legs are made by ripping a wide board into quarters and bevelling the edges and wrapping around itself with a center block. The repitition of form is obviously arches or curves to soften the look of this large table.
42" W x 97" L x 31" H.

Beautiful work! Great photos as well - a rare thing on this gallery to see the build stages. Is that an amana shaper head? I've looked at that insert head in the past it looks nice. How do you like it? What kind of finish did you use?

By the way it appears on your top you didn't orient the grain with the growth rings. Are you concerned about that?

Great work again!

Nice piece. Looks like a lot of fore thought.
I really believe that the alternating growth ring thing is something that was passed down from the air drying days. It's always my last concern...color and grain matching being the first.

Thank you guys for your comments/complements.
Jim, yes it is the Amana cutter, it works well but not perfect. They also make an abrasive cutter with the same diameter used with the same bearing, (you just wrap around sandpaper) I use the abrasive one for tight radius and figure woods like tiger maple.
The finish is laquer.
I'm not concerned at all about the alternating growth rings, as jtmac said I only look at the best grain match. The boards I chose were very flat on the rough and the top is secure in a way that allows for seasonal wood movement.
