This console table was years in the making. I've been dragging this 20" x 96" walnut plank around not knowing what it was to become. I did a model about a year ago-and I liked it.I set out to build it this spring, and as it came together, the whole thing changed. The wood wanted to be something a little different than I had in mind. Originally, it was all straight, square, 90. Now there is nothing straight, square or 90.

67" long x 18" wide x 32" high
finish is oil, poly, and wax

Maybe that plank really wanted to be a diving board! Interesting shape though. Any Nakashima influence perchance?

No Nakashima influence that I was aware of. I was loosly inspired by some of Gerrit Reitveld's work initially before all the curves happened.Interesting that you mention diving boards though-one of my earlier thoughts was a coffee table that was cantilevered from one end.
