Dogwood Marquetry Buffet

Listing #2963 Listed on: 10/31/2010 Company Name: CT Fine Furniture
Name: Craig Thibodeau Member

This is my latest marquetry piece done as a commission through one of the galleries that sells my work. It also happens to be the largest marquetry piece I have built to date. The marquetry imagery is of white Dogwood flowers and branches on an Ash Burl background framed in solid Wenge. Any comments are welcome.

Craig, when do classes begin?
Posted By:Craig Thibodeau
Jeremy, if you really want to learn marquetry I would recommend taking classes from Paul Schurch www.schurchwoodwork.com. I studied with him (a one week advanced marquetry class) and he is a wonderful teacher, very willing to share his knowledge and workshop with his students. I would like to go back and study with him more when time allows.

beautiful work. am wondering what wood you used for the leaves? thanks.

Jerry,
The leaves are made of two colors of dyed Poplar veneer that I buy from Anita Marquetry in the UK. They also sell a wide variety of other colors of dyed veneer.
