Very nice! How many hinges did you use on the larder cabinet? Looks like a lot of weight there. Just a shame about the work tops, looks like Corian/hi macs. Would have looked so much better in jet black granite.
I like the shaped plinth - did you have lights under there?

Thanks! There are eight Blum hinges on each door. I was worried about the inset door having shelves on it also but it seemed quite rugged when done. The tops are Solid Surface a lot like Corian. There are no seams using solid surface and there would have been two using granite which is a lot for a small kitchen like this and the customer didn't like that. No there are no lights underneath the plinth.

Hi Jamie,

Great job! Seems well designed and professional. I like the idea of hidden compartments. Your interior is birch, what's the doors and face frame made of and whats your finishing schedual and finish? I was inspired by your "first kitchen" title as I am looking forward my first also. Congratualations

Thanks,The doors and frames and moldings are also birch.I install the cabinets with one coat of primer and one spray coat of paint than after install a painter puts the last coat on with a brush.People around here in this style kitchen like the brush marks to flow with the grains of the wood and not look like plastic.I use Laqva prime made by Beckers and Pratt & Lamberd latex paint. Thanks for looking and good luck on yours!

Great job, Jamie. I'm a sucker for beaded inset. Well laid out and executed. Did you come up with the design changes or were those customer requested or done my a designer?
