Elliptical Marquetry Dining Table

This is a recently completed commission for an elliptical dining table. The table is about as modern as my work has been in quite a while. The top is Curly Anigre and Ash Burl with a solid Anigre border. The curved base is two bent laminations connected by a couple curved beams which aren't visible in these images.

Great work. You must have a lot of patience. I am interested to know how you connected the legs to the top.

Andy, thanks for the comment. The legs are connected to each other with two curved cross rails under the tabletop. The rails are then bolted to the top through a lip on their inside faces so the hardware can't be seen. Threaded inserts in the top and 1/4" bolts through the rails hold things together quite well.
