Chippendale SIde Chair

Listing #440 Listed on: 10/31/2006 Name: MARC LEVIN

Company Name: ALINEXI built this replica of a Philadelphia Side Chair using Mahogany.
I purchased 16/4 and 8/4 boards for this project, and cut most of the parts using my band saw.
Most of the work was hand tools, ie. rasps, files and carving tools.
I built it from back to front, starting with the rear legs, then keystone, crest rail, seat and finally the front legs.
I need a better picture to show off some of the carving details like the ball and claw feet.
Took 60 hours to complete.

Looks great!
Wish I had the time to hand carve things.

Have to be honest.. I see some serious lack of symmetry & rough facets on areas that should be flat, or smooth......:(
