This is my first clay to bronze, I worked with the local forge company. The cross is made out of Cypress with a dark charcoal stain. I destress the wood before staining, then using a dull lacquer with a extra flat sheen. The cross is 6’-0” tall x 3’-6” wide, Jesus is 38” tall. Thank you for looking!

Much nicer! Realistic and believable.
this represents a positive step for you - to go on to a more art oriented space than making wood boxes.
Keep up the good work and get your skills in place!

The true cross wood:
The cross beam was made from Cypress.
The vertical beam was made from Fur (Pine).
The foot of the cross was made from Cedar.
Three types of wood (The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit)
The three languages on the inscription are written in Greek, Latin, and Hebrew.

The nails in Christ hands were driven at an angle through the palm and out the wrists. This can be clearly seen on the Shroud of Turin. The hole in Christ's side was on his right side. (Reference: Father Robert Spitzer PHD)
At one time the vertical beam was a bridge over a stream. The cross is a bridge to heaven. Your work is excellent. I think about God 24/7 now. God Bless,
William Mann
