Steps drawn on end elevation to work out the shapes of each with even spacings and each lathe at 45 mm wide...half a 4 by 2 by sawing dressed lumber yard pine..or as you all call it, a 2 by 4! Maybe not treat them but did think of a red stain to enhanse the carpet idea.

Cool idea.
But how is that outside corner strip attached? And what will keep them in place over time and with repeated foot traffic? The other treads have gravity and weight to keep them against the stringers. Those exposed radiused corner pieces look like they'll deflect off when kicked.
...just a thought. But it's a cool idea anyway!
I have some discreet packers inline with the joists every 600 mm set back 10 mm just for that corner one. Thought of everything!
