My first bookcase. Please let me know how much a customer should pay for something like this. It is 8'H x 10"W built with 3/4" furniture grade sandply, 1/2" for drawers cases and Blum hanging files hardware. Your input is greatly appreciated.

I would have paid a lot mre for a piece with backs that do not look so blotchy and had grain running vert instead of horiz

Something to take in consideration. However, my customer is extremely happy with the product and has placed another order. One more thing, I thought the books would cover the backs. I respect your criticism.

congratulations on a happy customer. the vert. vs. horiz. grained backs is a preference not a law. satisfied customers and more time in the shop is what it is all about. nice job!

Edgar,

Nice work. But, don't count on books covering the backs. Many people use some/all of their bookcases to display artwork. Then, the backs are very visible.

The end panels are a nice touch.

Thank you Charles. I will pay attention to that detail for the next one I buid. I thought about the same. Some people use the top shelves for their art, ornaments, etc. I'm presently working on the second wall which includes a Murphy bed system. Once it is finish will post. Thanks again.
