Wall Unit
Listing #859 Listed on: 09/30/2007
After 35 years in the business I got to build something for myself. This wall units main wood is Red Oak with Birds-eye maple door panels. The ledge between the two end cabinets is Pupleheart. Tools used for this project are and old worn-out Shopbot, a Legacey ornamental lathe and A Shop-Fox planer/molder. I estimate 150 man hours ( that includes installation) and 200 hours on the shopbot. Now I can put my mind at easy and go back to work. Happy woodworking

Well done, I am sure it was a pleasure to build something for yourself. I have people say all the time, "I bet you have some really great looking cabinets in your house". I tell them not really, I can't afford to do this quality of work for myself. I don't make any money putting cabinets in my house. Although I did build my boys a great set of bunk beds from birds eye maple 8 years ago.
Got to go now, Great looking work.

Wow. That's incredible! The framing makes me think of a stately English manor house or something. Just beautiful!

Udo,
That is incredible workmanship. Your family will be very proud. I'm not real crazy about using Purpleheart with darker wood, but overall it's stunning.
