table saw splitter

Listing #38   Listed on: 05/26/2011

This splitter for zero clearance throat plates is easy to remove and adjustable for blade width and position. I patented it years ago, but dropped the patent because it was not profitable.

Yours can be as simple as drilling a hole into a half inch throat plate, aligned behind the blade, and screwing in a hardware store hook pin.

The hook pin after the blade is just as effective (maybe more) than the standard plate. (tested by Wood Magazine)

The one in the picture is adjustable because the pin is set into a 1/4" thick x 3/4" dia. dowel section. This "button" rotates in a 1/4" deep 3/4" dia. hole in the throat plate. Rotating moves the splitter left or right.

A central screw holds the button down.

For a wider or narrower kerf, additional holes can be drilled for a smaller hook pin.

The hook pin is threaded and can be removed with fingers.

If you don't want to make the button, thousands are taking up storage space at my shop.

Would be interested in a few of these buttons, if you would be willing to part with them.

Thank you,

Kenny
