A source for submerged wood       A supplier for lumber cut from submerged logs is provided.

by Professor Gene Wengert

Q.
I would like some information on companies that sell lumber sawn from sunken logs. I heard that you posted an article about this wood, but was unable to find it in the WOODWEB archives.

Specifically, I am interested in wood used for making stringed musical instruments (spruce, maple, etc.) and I'd like to know more about its properties, how it is dried, limitations, and price. Also, where can I buy some of this wood?

A.
Try Superior Underwater Logging Company in Ashland, WI.
