Examples of Darkening of Cherry from Sunlight
This photo clearly shows the effect of sunlight on Cherry wood. December 27, 2006
Question
There was a post earlier about cherry kitchen cabinets, including a picture that showed the affect of the sun on different finishes. I was hoping to print it, as I am working on a cherry entertainment center for a couple and I don't think the wife understands how much cherry will darken.

From contributor T:
First and third rows were baked for two weeks in direct sunlight. Second and fourth were wrapped in craft paper and stored in a dark closet. There was a question about darkening cherry with a lye wash also. Lye will really darken cherry. Sort of a dark brown mahogany. Not like UV at all.
