You can start the process by contacting Forest Stuardship Council (FSC-US). You will have to go through a third party certification process to get set up with all the administrative and inventory requirements. Then there is an annual audit to ensure compliance. Another avenue to consider is FSC certification as part of an association. Wood Product Mfrs. Assn. has a program for members and it's a less expensive way to start. They also help you through the whole process. There are some company size restrictions for the group.
