Question
I have found it necessary to cover melamine (thermo fused) with Formica. What should I do to prep the surface? What kind of adhesive is best?

From contributor J:
We use a 50 grit in the belt sander and go over the case side. You don’t have to remove all of the white melamine facing, just enough to rough it up and get rid of the gloss. Then just spray with contact as you normally would. We usually hit the perimeter twice with glue.
From contributor L:
I agree with contributor J but if this is an un-restrained panel (door) be sure to balance with the same grade of laminate on the back.
